Well worth it! The service and food here were amazing. The menu does change but I really appreciate for it being a tasting menu you still get to select what you want. Highly recommend getting the falafel. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything. It’s definitely a lot of food, so pace yourself. We each just had a single bite of our main and took the rest home.

I had an exceptional experience at Galit. From the moment we sat down, the service stood out in a way that felt both professional and genuinely warm. Our server was incredibly attentive and immediately aware of my guest’s food allergy without us having to remind anyone. Every dish that came out was presented with clear explanations, and when we had questions about specific ingredients or preparations, the staff answered them confidently and in a way that actually made sense. I didn’t recognize half the things on the menu, and they made everything approachable without dumbing anything down. We were there to celebrate my friend’s graduation, and Galit went above and beyond in a way I honestly didn’t expect. Toward the end of the meal, they surprised us with a hand-drawn card congratulating him. It was such a small gesture on paper, but one that felt incredibly intentional and heartfelt. It’s the kind of thing that reminds you why locally owned places matter. They care enough to make moments like that personal. Between the food, the service, and that thoughtful touch at the end, Galit delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Chicago. I absolutely loved it and can’t recommend it enough.

I had an absolutely amazing dinner at Galit. The food was delicious. I also enjoyed an absolutely fabulous espresso martini. The bartender was definitely the best member of staff we encountered all evening. As I said, the food was very good and I always love sharing menus where we can try several dishes. I particularly enjoyed the hummus and the falafel. Oh yes, and the dessert! The smoked turkey dish was also a favorite of our table. The meal was well paced and service was attentive however I felt staff could have been warmer and maybe a little more personal. The main server was very good, but the other people we encountered seemed a little disinterested. The cookie to take home was also a very nice touch !

We aren’t Michelin Star eaters but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try Galit during Restaurant Week 2026. Service was friendly but felt stretched thin on a busy Saturday night. Every dish was solid but nothing was a true standout except maybe the Crispy Phyllo Pie. I understand RW isn’t usually a good representation of a place, but I do feel like many Chicago Bib Gourmand restaurants deliver better quality, flavor, and service.

We had such a great time at Galit. Our server was amazing: super friendly, always checking in on us, and every recommendation turned out to be spot on! Before our table was ready, we hung out at the bar, chatted with the bartender, and tried the Limonana cocktail. Totally refreshing and one of the best drinks I ever tried! We tried Labneh and Ezme with fresh bread together (server’s suggestion), and wow! That combo was just heavenly. For mezze, we tried the Maitake Mushroom. Honestly, it wasn’t exactly our thing, but it was definitely creative and fun to try. For mains, I went with the Pastrami, which was incredible! probably my favorite dish of the night. We left the table full, and even when I reheated the leftovers the next day, it still tasted amazing. We also had the Lamb Kebab T-bone, and while it was good, it didn’t really stand out compared to other lamb dishes I’ve had elsewhere. If I go back, I’d probably pick something else instead. Overall, the food was delicious, the staff made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, and I loved how unique most of the dishes were. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for something special.

Galit truly deserves both its price point and its Michelin recognition. We visited on an extremely busy evening, yet the experience felt seamless from beginning to end. Despite the high volume, every table received equal attention and care. The atmosphere was vibrant but never chaotic. We started with the Hummus and Salatim. The hummus was beautifully balanced with a perfectly smooth texture. The components of the salatim — labneh, ezme, pickles, and the freshly baked pita — were each outstanding on their own. Every element felt thoughtfully prepared and intentional. For the main course, the clear standout was the Pastrami. The pronounced smoke aroma, the tenderness of the meat, and especially the depth of the sauce were exceptional. The sauce alone was memorable. The accompanying bread service complemented the dish perfectly. The Smoked Turkey Shawarma was also very good, but if choosing between the two, the Pastrami is the stronger option. For dessert, the Crispy Phyllo Pie was well executed and reminiscent of a refined baklava — rich and layered, though slightly heavy for my personal taste. The Malabi, on the other hand, was visually beautiful and more balanced in flavor and texture. Given the choice, I would opt for the Malabi. Both desserts were technically strong; preference simply depends on taste. Portion sizes were surprisingly satisfying. For a restaurant at this level, I expected smaller servings, but we left comfortably full. We tried the coffee after dessert was also excellent. Perhaps most impressive was the service. Despite being a Michelin-recognized restaurant, the staff remained humble, attentive, and genuinely engaging. Each dish was carefully explained, and our questions were answered thoughtfully. That level of hospitality is just as important as the food itself. Overall, Galit delivers not only in flavor and technique, but in experience. It is absolutely deserving of its recognition!

Had one of the best meals here. Our server, Risa, was beyond knowledgeable of the menu and guided us through each section perfectly. There was not a bad bite!

The food was amazing. The atmosphere is pretty casual and the seating setup could be improved but this was one of the most filling meals we have ever had. Every dish was excellent and the wine journey was great as well. We loved the tea and coffee at the end too. Best hummus we have ever had. I get why people rate it lower because of their Michelin star but if you like great food with a more casual atmosphere I highly recommend.
